Just Announced Cut Copy and Holy Ghost at the Riv

Australian electro-pop act Cut Copy makes chilly, new wave-indebted sounds that make the Internet go gaga—but that electronic distance doesn’t always translate well to stage settings. There’s hope, though, for the band’s upcoming North American tour: Previews of the forthcoming Zonoscope indicate that the band’s angular veins are pumping a little more blood this time around, while the announcement of the tour mentions that Dan Whitford and co. have been honing the new live show in a Melbourne warehouse. So, at the very least, when the band stops by the Riviera April 8 (with DFA affiliate Holy Ghost), it should have an entrancing light show to go with its burbling synths and nocturnal grooves.

Limited numbers of presale tickets are currently available at Cut Copy’s website, though tickets go on sale to the masses Jan. 22.
