Fine, this “Shit Chicagoans Say” video isn’t the worst thing we’ve ever seen

Since sifting through dull newspapers, hyperbolic blogs, and overflowing RSS feeds for meaningful news can be an arduous process, News Net catches and compiles both the amusing and the significant reports that were overlooked throughout the week. Here are some things to think about as the weekend begins.
• Loathe as The A.V. Club is to admit it, someone finally sent us a “Shit Chicagoans Say” video that we didn’t abhor from minute one. Granted, it’s more of a “shit white people who live in Lakeview and Wrigleyville say” video, but fine. It’s worth at least 2:33 of our time, if only for lines like, “I wish I had brick in my apartment,” and, “How much is your rent?”
• This is worth investigating: “A friend once told me that he thought—knew, actually—that Alan Ruck’s character Cameron was obviously fucking Ferris’ girlfriend behind his back. Next time you see the movie, pay close attention to Cameron and Sloane. You’ll never unsee it.”
• This weekend marks the 85th-annual Raccoon Feed at an American Legion about a half an hour west of Milwaukee. Folks gather to raise money for charity and eat some of the sweet garbage-eating bandit meat, which The Sun-Times says is “dark and stringy like pork, with a pleasant beefy taste.” WBEZ has a picture of a platter from the event featuring some rather disgusting-looking tiny ribs.

• Chicago is now the most gang-infested city in the U.S., with 150,000 members spread throughout 70 organizations.
• A Google designer was in town and took a tour of Stern Pinball, the last remaining pinball machine manufacturer in the world. He posted a bunch of fascinating photos online.
