Fiona Apple announces tour dates including SXSW appearance
She might not have a new album on the books yet, but Fiona Apple appears to be priming the metaphorical musical pump. After recently announcing an appearance she has planned for Pitchfork’s official SXSW showcase, she’s now confirmed a string of dates including a stop in Chicago March 19 at Lincoln Hall.
Apple’s last record, Extraordinary Machine, came out in 2005 amidst a ton of production controversy and industry turmoil. In more recent years, Apple has released a string of singles and recorded a new album, which was reportedly completed in 2010 but has been languishing in label hell ever since. The album is allegedly due out later this year, though there’s no hard release date yet. In the meantime, it’s fine to take solace by just watching the “Not About Love” video over and over again.
