Newswire Foster The People continuing its unlikely run of success with a big 2012 tour

The members of Foster The People in descending order of conventional handsomeness.

Ubiquitous buzz band Foster The People has had quite a year, bursting into the collective consciousness with “Pumped Up Kicks,”—a three-time platinum single that was arguably the jam of summer 2011—two Grammy nods, and three sold-out headlining tours to successively larger rooms. Sure, the band isn’t exactly a critical favoriteMojo called out the band’s “disappointing lack of substance,” while Rolling Stone, of all magazines, called the group “derivative”—but, hey, the band members getting paid, so whatever.

Now, Foster The People has announced its largest headlining tour to date, hitting amphitheaters and outdoor arenas all over the country, and stopping June 20 at the Congress Theater in Chicago with openers Tokyo Police Club.
