Local Newswire Go Inside Pee-Wee’s Playhouse at Quimby’s Feb. 24

No related

Don’t look now, but Pee-wee Herman is making a comeback. After some embarrassing run-ins with the law in 1991 and again in 2002, Paul Reubens (creator and star of the hit TV show Pee-wee’s Playhouse) has been back in action recently, with a resuscitation of the Pee-wee stage show and a new film in the works.

One awesome by-product of the Pee-wee renaissance is a new book by author Caseen Gaines, called Inside Pee-wee’s Playhouse: The Untold, Unauthorized, And Unpredicable Story Of A Pop Phenomenon, which promises to give readers a behind-the-scenes look at the wonderfully weird TV cult classic.

Gaines’ book includes an episode guide, biographical info on the cast and creators, and previously unpublished anecdotes and pictures. No word on whether or not it will clear up the ambiguous on-screen romance between Pee-wee and Miss Yvonne, but anyone losing sleep over that question shouldn’t worry. Fans can ask Gaines when he presents the book at Quimby’s Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
