Gossip kick off headlining tour in October
Expect Portland trio the Gossip to pump as much sassy sleaze as ever into their pared-down blues-punk-dance tunes as they head out on tour again this fall with an Oct. 16 stop at Metro: Mightily wailing feminist Beth Ditto and pals will be out behind an album called Music For Men and a single called "Heavy Cross." It's still a little weird to see a band like this making a record with Rick Rubin, but no amount of studio polish can wear down Ditto's formidable bellow and menacing presence onstage. Judging by the new video for the single, Ditto burned up most of the budget on almost Peaches-worthy costumes anyway.
