Hear the Garden State Soundtrack performed live at Quencher's

Coming this month to Soundtrack Serenade hosted by Quenchers Saloon: a performance of the entire soundtrack to the quintessential late-20s existential crisis flick Garden State. July 12, Androgynous Mustache will take on the Zach Braff-assembled album, which won a Grammy Award for Best Compilation For A Motion Picture Soundtrack. While the movie plays on the background, the band will perform such classics as Coldplay’s “Don’t Panic,” Iron & Wine’s cover of “Such Great Heights,” and Simon And Garfunkel’s “Only Living Boy in New York.” The Shins, famously promoted in the film when Natalie Portman’s character tells Braff that a certain song will change his life, will be featured twice. Perhaps the most interesting part of the night will be Androgynous Mustaches’ take on the mellow electronica of such songs as Zero 7’s “In the Waiting Life” (Zero 7) and Thievery Corporation’s “Lebanese Blonde.” Between songs, participants will be asked film trivia with the chance to win prizes.
