Hideout Block Party expands line-up

Former Hideout bartender Neko Case is making a triumphant homecoming at this year's Hideout Block Party, headlining both nights of the annual event with two very different groups: On Saturday, Sept. 20, Case will perform her solo material with her band; then on Sunday she'll make an increasingly rare performance with her other band, The New Pornographers. Listen carefully, and you can hear Chicago's male population swooning.

The bill also features plenty of artists not affiliated with Ms. Case, and it's pretty interesting: Saturday also features Israeli troublemakers Monotonix, intentionally-bad-comedian-turned-country-crooner Neil Hamburger, world-music legacy Vieux Farka Touré, psychedlic rockers Black Mountain, and more. On Sunday, there's esteemed Chicago rapper Rhymefest, indie group Ratatat, country smart aleck Robbie Fulks, indie rapper Tim Fite, Touch & Go outfit The Uglysuit, and more.

A two-day pass costs $45; single-day passes go for $25. They're available at TicketWeb.
