JBTV goes in-depth on the making of Rise Against’s new video

Chicago’s JBTV is known by locals both for its longevity as well as host Jerry Bryant’s overly affable demeanor. Its latest episode was decidedly heavier, though, as Ryan Manno went behind the scenes on the video shoot for Rise Against’s “Make It Stop (September’s Children).” The song deals with bullying of teenage LGBT students, and makes direct references to the string of suicides that occurred this past September. The It Gets Better Project collaborated with the band on the video’s creation.

JBTV’s “making of” sees Manno talk at length with band members and students about the weighty subject. It also gives fans a unique chance to see singer Tim McIlrath revisit his alma mater, Rolling Meadows High School, for the video shoot. While there, Manno makes it a point to request that the associate dean add McIlrath to the school’s wall of distinguished alumni. According to Manno, there looks to be some prime real estate next to Bill Lumbergh’s ... uh, Gary Cole’s plaque.
