JC Brooks And The Uptown Sound sign to Bloodshot Records

As history has proven, Chicagoans are well versed in hometown loyalty. Staying true to that mantra, it seems only natural that local label Bloodshot Records has signed local act JC Brooks And The Uptown Sound. After playing Rahm’s mayoral inauguration in Grant Park, gaining internet notoriety for a Wilco cover, and directing South Side Of Heaven at Second City, JCBUS are no strangers to keeping it all in the family. Like their labelmates, JCBUS seamlessly weave diverse genres like soul and Motown with post-punk sensibilities into a mesmerizing sound all their own. However, it’s their live performances with frontman Brooks’ masterful stage presence that really takes these guys over the edge.

In addition to a slew of US dates, JC Brooks And The Uptown Sound are set to play Taste Of Randolph June 18, offering the perfect opportunity for Chicagoans to unite and drunkenly bask in hometown pride.
