Just Announced Kanye West & Jay-Z form “The Throne,” announce tour

Hip-hop's Wonder Twins set out to conquer North America

Because everyone likes to start the workweek with concrete answers, dammit, Kanye West and Jay-Z have obliged by clearing up any lingering questions about their upcoming collaboration. Hip-hop’s version of the Wonder Twins announced today that their union is formally—and humbly—called “The Throne,” giving haters the chance to make countless toilet-related jokes. The two also announced a full-fledged tour to coincide with the release of their first album, Watch The Throne, which is set to hit iTunes on Aug. 8 and follow in physical form on Aug. 12. Tickets for the duo’s cross-country trek will also go on sale Aug. 8 via another union of power, Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Oh, and there’s a presale, which begins July 28 and requires hopefuls to give Live Nation the ol’ Facebook “Like” for access to the password. While the album is already available for preorder, a purchase of tickets, which surely won’t come cheap, will include a digital copy of the album. The pair previously released the full track list for Watch The Throne, which is filled with plenty of opportunities to use the asterisk key.
