Beloved-by-grown-ups, limited-edition toy creator/retailer Kidrobot officially opens its inaugural Chicago store Saturday at 1573 North Milwaukee Avenue. Founded in 2002 by artist Paul Budnitz, the specialty store sells everything from eye-catching graphic sweatshirts to cigarette-smoking vinyl bunnies endearingly named Smorkin Labbits. The Wicker Park store boasts a pirate theme. If you’re even the slightest bit interested, you should probably visit sooner rather than later: It’ll be closing permanently sometime in December.

If you’re too impatient to wait until morning, or just want to scout out how much to haul away on Saturday, there’s a brief, grand-opening reception and signing session tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
