With all those hints, it became pretty obvious pretty quickly where the “secret” Deerhunter show was going to be this Saturday, but now it’s out officially: The band is playing this Saturday at 4 p.m. “at the underpass at 560 W. Grand @ the Chicago River under the Kennedy overpass.”
So, yeah, sort of behind the Chicago Tribune production building and by the river. Hope those high-rise condo dwellers love Bradford Cox!
According to organizers, there’s never been a show in this location before, not shockingly, and the entire thing will be run by a generator. Fans will be admitted until capacity is reached. The whole shebang is free and sponsored by Levi’s and Urban Outfitters, so dress to impress, hipsters.
