Just Announced Mad Decent Block Party coming back to Chicago

For its fourth annual country-crossing concert series Block Party, Mad Decent is hitting up the usual suspects: New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Chicago. While the label took over The Hideout last year, this year it’ll be setting up shop on Milwaukee between Western and Oakley Aug. 13.

The record label that brought dubstep, Brazilian baile funk, and Angolan Kuduro more fully into the international club scene has a different roster of bands for each city. While hot groups like Gang Gang Dance, Das Racist, and Major Lazer travel to the coasts for their appearances, Chicago will get a bevy of up-and-coming artists and industry veterans. Dillon Frances, Dawn Golden & Rosy Cross, Bosco Delrey, and Reptar are already on the docket, along with Lunice and DJ Benzi. Clearly Mad Decent had a little trouble luring their crew out to the Third Coast.

Though the Block Party website is currently under construction, the organizers promise that they’ll soon reveal the surprise stars, or “$pecial guests,” as they refer to them, that will pop up (by the use of the dollar sign, we’re guessing either Ke$ha or Curren$y). Like last year, the Mad Decent Block Party is free, open to all ages, and need we say it, madly decent.
