New A.C. Newman album to be played at Empty Bottle this Saturday

AC Newman Karin Bubas
This Saturday, the Empty Bottle has announced they're slated to combine two wildly beloved sources of entertainment: free canned beer and a listening party for New Pornographers mastermind A.C. Newman’s forthcoming album (out January 20), Get Guilty. Guilty is the Canadian's sophomore album after 2004’s The Slow Wonder—a solid collection of bubbly power pop tracks that all but demand repeat plays—and comes after two additional New Pornographers outings (Twin Cinema and Challengers, respectively). In addition to an advance copy of the CD, Bottle-goers will also get the opportunity to buy tickets to Newman's March 25 show at the Logan Square Auditorium. The event starts at 7 p.m. and lasts two hours—all-too-short a time when free beer is concerned. To RSVP (free), visit the event's website.

Here's the first track off the album, "There Are Maybe Ten Or Twelve":
