Though tonight's got plenty of options, the best show is happening at Metro, where The Mountain Goats and Final Fantasy share a promising double bill. LetJohn Darnielle's deadpan vocals lead you to salvation with tracks off The Mountain Goats' new album, The Life Of The World To Come; all its songs are named after, and inspired by, verses from the New Testament. Final Fantasy is string-plucking whiz kid Owen Pallett, whose loopy violin tunes sound like mini concertos, interrupted occasionally by Pallett's striking, piercing voice. Expect to hear some tracks from Heartland, due out in January, and plenty of swooning—Pallett's got a natural ability to woo a crowd.
