Newswire Paul Brittain has left SNL, leaving Lord Wyndemere cosplayers in the lurch

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Paul Brittain has left Saturday Night Live “effective immediately.” The split was reportedly amicable and happened because Brittain “had the opportunity to pursue other projects,” none of which is probably a Goran “Funky Boy” Bogdan spin-off series.

Brittain, who is apparently Bob Newhart’s nephew, graduated from Naperville North High School in 1995 and got his start in the Chicago comedy scene as a member of two troupes at iO, Mike Helicopter and Rattlesnake High.

So far, there’s not much information on the net about what these other projects are that Brittain left to pursue, but Saturday Night Live will go on without him this weekend with guest host Channing Tatum, who will now have the chance to grace viewers with his spot-on impression of a hunky, dancing Ron Paul.
