Paul F. Tompkins' Chicago-recorded sophomore album gets release date

A Special Thing Records has announced it will be releasing the follow-up to Paul F. Tompkins’ 2007 debut, Impersonal, on Dec. 1. The new live album, titled Freak Wharf, was recorded at the Lakeshore Theater in mid-March, and its title comes from one of that evening’s most quotable bits, wherein the Best Week Ever host riffed on the embarrassingly outdated language in the cautionary Go Ask Alice.
