Pearl Jam announces details of 20th anniversary Labor Day blowout

Summer schedules can fill up quickly, what with all of the weddings, vacations, and raging outdoor keggers that need attending. And wouldn’t you know it, it’s time to block off yet another summer weekend: Pearl Jam has announced details for its Labor Day weekend concert at Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wisconsin. The band will headline the two-day event—scheduled for Sept. 3 and 4—which also marks the band's 20th (!) anniversary. And, like most 20-year-olds with starring roles in grunge history and access to an outdoor amphitheater, the band’s gonna party.
This will be Pearl Jam’s only U.S. show of 2011, and will feature an impressive lineup of fellow revelers: The Strokes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Mudhoney, John Doe, Joseph Arthur, Glen Hansard, and Liam Finn. Add to that the release of a Cameron Crowe-directed documentary, Pearl Jam Twenty, with its accompanying book and soundtrack, and you have all of the makings of a summer that promises to make you feel incredibly old, if not downright ancient.
Tickets to the Labor Day shindig go on sale Saturday, June 4 for the general public, and Monday, May 23 for members of the band’s Ten Club. A 10-date Canadian tour will follow, beginning Sept. 7:
