Just Announced Pygmalion Festival adds Of Montreal, Janelle Monáe, Ted Leo, and more to lineup

Janelle Monáe is worth the drive alone

They're not really from Montreal.

Just when Lollapalooza's over, Pygmalion Fest goes and announces its full lineup. Now in its sixth year, the Pygmalion Music Festival prides itself on being a different sort of beast from Coachella and SXSW by showcasing up-and-coming talent in intimate venues. Some of the headliners don’t exactly scream up-and-coming, but with acts like Of Montreal, Built to Spill, Ted Leo And The Pharmacists, Roky Erickson with Okkervil River, and Caribou confirmed to play, who’s complaining?

As in years past, Pygmalion promises four days of good music and good times in Champaign-Urbana. The festival takes place Sept. 22 through 25, but promoters have planned several pre-shows weeks in advance, with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin and The Hood Internet set to perform. The full festival lineup is available on festival’s website, as well as information about tickets.
