Rally for Conan O'Brien today outside NBC 5 Studios
As the late night war of 2010 continues, it was only a matter of time before Conan O’Brien’s hair elevated from a punchline to a protest symbol. To support The Tonight Show host’s fight against NBC and Jay Leno, a group called “I’m With Coco!” plans to rally outside of the NBC 5 Studio (401 N. Michigan Ave.) at 4:30 p.m. Want to show your support? Wear orange.
“It's time to show NBC what's up,” reads the Facebook event description, which currently claims more than 500 people will be attending. Example posters show an orange fist with a caption that reads, “This fist is a symbol of orange.” Sounds borderline anarchist—be ready for tear gas and police batons.
To put things in perspective, there are actual, serious causes to support as well this evening. Check out country-punk rockers Waco Brothers and indie-rockers Eleventh Dream Day at The Hideout tonight as proceeds benefit Partners In Health, a health-care provider for Haitians devastated by last Tuesday’s earthquake.
