Restaurant Week can be tough to navigate. With 160 participating restaurants at various price points putting together three-course menus for lunch and dinner, it can be a bit of a crapshoot, waging reputation and regular menu prices against the items on offer for 10 days (Feb. 19-28). So we here at The A.V. Club have decided to remove the mystery. We looked at all restaurants in the city serving dinner (148 total), compared the Restaurant-Week menu against the original, did a whole bunch of calculating, and provided our best estimate of how much you're saving.
Vegetarians, you're out of luck. In almost every case, ordering the vegetarian meal means you either break even or come out with a loss against regular menu prices. If you want to get the most for your $32, order the most expensive meat you can find.
As such, some of the best deals tend to be found at steakhouses. There, and at hotel restaurants where prices already cater to business travelers with an expense account. Some places we found you actually lose money by going this week (hello, Connie's) and other places whose laziness took a year-round prix-fixe menu and slapped a "Restaurant Week" label on it.
Check out our calculator to see how much you're saving; we've already canceled a couple of reservations.
