Shellac, Dan Deacon, Bill Callahan playing a rock ’n’ roll carnival in Chicago
Finally, a place for Steve Albini to wear stilts on stage again.
More Just Announced
While A.V. Fest is obviously our favorite new fest this year, we have a feeling the inaugural Brilliant Corners Of Popular Amusements fest is going to come in a close second.
Announced today, the fest will be held in Eckhart Park at the corner of Chicago and Noble—West Town—Sept. 16-18 and will feature performances by Shellac, Bill Callahan, School Of Seven Bells, Fool’s Gold, A Hawk And A Hacksaw, Bomba Estéreo, Dan Deacon, A Lull, Sidi Touré, Charles Bradley, Dark Dark Dark, and Cave.
As if that line-up weren’t enough, the fest will also feature carnival rides, games, a farmer’s market, the Renegade Craft Fair, and four—count ’em, four—awesome circus troupes: El Circo Cheapo, The Amazing George Orange, The Ricochet Project, and The Zoppe Family Circus.
Access to the main fairgrounds will be free and open to the public. For ticketed events, like Shellac or El Circo Cheapo, there will be two large circus big top tents. Tickets for those will run a cool $15-20. The full schedule’s below, and tickets are, apparently, on sale now.
