Spike Jonze and Dave Eggers host special pre-screening of Where The Wild Things Are
After three years in production and rumored creative control disputes, Where The Wild Things Are is finally making its way to theaters Oct. 16. Chicagoans get an early crack at the film, with an advanced screening of the much-anticipated adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s children’s book hitting the Music Box Theatre on Sept. 29. As if that’s not enough to tantalize, screenwriters Spike Jonze and Chicago native Dave Eggers (Jonze also directed) will host a post-screening Q&A session. Tickets cost $39.50 with admission to VIP after-party running $125. Proceeds go towards Egger’s 826CHI, a non-profit reading and writing youth program, and occasional for-profit mustache encourager.
Karen O And The Kids, who composed the majority of the film’s soundtrack, released the super cheery if slightly annoying "All Is Love" earlier this week. Check it out:
