Steely Dan to play four Chicago Theatre shows in late August/early September
Not all big concert announcements lately are related to summer festivals; the bewitchingly sleazy and subversive Steely Dan just announced it'll be coming to the Chicago Theatre on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, 3, and 4 on its Rent Party '09 Tour. The extended stint offers plenty of fan service, as the group will play tracks from albums Aja (Aug. 31), Gaucho (Sept. 1), and The Royal Scam (Sept. 3) before devoting an entire night to playing songs selected by ticket holders via the Internet (Sept. 4). Tickets go on sale June 6 over at Ticketmaster, and run from $72 to a cool $226. Since it's already in your head, here's a video of them performing "Do It Again":
