String Cheese Incident bringing hoppy brews, heavy nugs to the Bottom Lounge
More Just Announced
A new event has been added to the Chicago Bluegrass And Blues Festival, for better or for worse. Kyle Hollingsworth of The String Cheese Incident brings his equally awfully named charity beer festival, Kyle’s Brew Fest, to Bottom Lounge Dec. 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets are on sale now on Hollingsworth’s website.
At $25 per person, the tickets include an exclusive performance by Hollingsworth’s Chicago-based jam band, Family Groove Company. Don’t worry, there’s also unlimited tasting of beer from “12-plus” breweries to drown out the messages of love and peace and other such cockamamie ideas. Attendees also receive a limited-edition pint glass from the event and the opportunity to participate in a silent auction. All proceeds benefit Conscious Alliance, a charity focusing on eliminating hunger in the U.S.
Kyle’s Brew Fest takes place right before String Cheese Incident’s final show in a stint of three for the Chicago Bluegrass And Blues Festival. Concert-goers that attend Kyle’s Brew Fest can also take a free bus from Bottom Lounge to the concert at the Aragon. After all, those who plan to make it through an entire night of Cheese-y jamming should probably have at least four hours worth of beer in their system.
