It’s not all about cool-kid music here at The A.V. Club. We like to stay true to our blue-collar roots by also tuning in to gritty country music made by singers who look like cast members of a semi-successful CW dramas. Just Jared reports that none other than America’s sweetheart/most celebrated spiteful ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift has two shows scheduled for Chicago on Aug. 9 and 10; a venue hasn’t been announced yet, but it most certainly will be the United Center or Allstate Arena – or both, given the two dates. Swift will be touring in support of the mega-selling Speak Now, a record we like with some reservations.
The other country superstar headed to Chicago is Keith Urban, who descends on the Allstate Arena on Oct. 14 to support the new Get Closer. Tickets don’t go on sale until March; head to Urban’s website for updates in the weeks ahead.
