Tegan And Sara at the Aragon Ballroom
The new wave folk duo comes to town March 26
Tegan and Sara Quin were originally pegged as a folk act, but lately the lesbian twin sisters from Canada have pursued a vaguely ’80s-ish pop path that led to 2007’s terrific The Con. Co-produced by Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla and featuring appearances by people like Kaki King, Death Cab’s Jason McGerr, and The Rentals’ Matt Sharp, the album offers all sorts of moods complemented by the sisters’ intoxicating vocals, which border on otherworldly. It will be interesting to see where Tegan And Sara go on their next record, which is due out in 2010. In the meantime, fans can plan to buy tickets for their show March 26 at the Aragon Ballroom. Tickets are $29.50 and go on sale at noon Friday.
