The Hood Internet spends $465 at Taco Bell for new album cover
Fuck yeah, that's tacos.
The geniuses behind Chicago’s The Hood Internet have resolved the burning question of the century: What can you do with $465 in Taco Bell gift certificates? The answer—now all-too obvious—is to buy multicolored tacos and make a giant “taco-llage.” The T-Bell excursion and subsequent art session were all recorded for posterity’s sake.
In the video, the camera zooms in on the receipt. For the mere price of $461.23, The Hood Internet bought 210 beef tacos and 160 volcano tacos, which were then transported in several boxes back to a studio. The yellow- and red-shelled delicacies were then arranged to spell out the band’s name. The project takes inspiration from The Hood Internet’s Tumblr Album Tacos, featuring album covers to which tacos have been cleverly added (because who doesn’t want a Wu-Taco?)
A contributor to the taco Tumblr then used the photo to create the ultimate homage to tacos. The out-of-this-world, mouth-watering album art will be featured on the duo’s upcoming self-titled compilation of remixes, which will be available for a free download on Dec. 6. From Mishka NYC’s website.
While starving college students everywhere will bemoan the loss of the 370 tacos, The Hood Internet did send a check for an equal $465 to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
