The Mars Volta to hit Congress Theater in mid-September
Grab your Tylenol and "I heart prog-punk" T-shirt: Noisy genre-hoppers The Mars Volta have announced a string of tour dates for this fall, including a Sept. 11 stop at the Congress Theater. Tickets go on sale Aug. 1. The shows are in support of the group's fifth album, the recently released Octahedron, and should be interesting live considering the disc finds The Mars Volta transitioning into a slower and even quieter mood. (Don't worry, there will still be plenty of catharsis for people who just want to spaz out to loud, 11-minute freakouts.) Here's the band playing "Cotopaxi," the single off its newest.
