HOLIDAY SALE AT THE ONION STORE

Just Announced The Mountain Goats and Final Fantasy at Metro

This November, the voice of God will sound much more nasally

Mountain Goats

Keeping with the theme of The Mountain Goats' upcoming Bible-thumping LP,The Life Of The World To Come, John Darnielle and company will wander the desert (read: go on a promotional tour) for roughly 40 days and 40 nights this fall, including a stop at Metro Nov. 5. Though he still tends to dabble in the form himself, reformed one-man band Darnielle continues to reach out to those with less supportive bodies on stage than he (like last fall's Mountain Goats tour-and-EP-mate Kaki King), granting the opening slot on the tour to string-plucking whiz kid Owen Pallett, a.k.a. Final Fantasy. This is the word of Darnielle, thanks be unto 4AD: The Life And The World To Come is available Oct. 6. Preview the "fun with breaking-and-entering" track (and "Brule's Rules" theme soundalike) "Genesis 3:23" here.
