They Might Be Giants announce grown-up tour
More Just Announced
Nerd-rock monoliths They Might Be Giants have been putting out lots of new material over the last decade in the realms of kids’ music, soundtracks, and podcasting, but haven’t been on a big tour for grown-ups since many fans’ “Birdhouse In Your Soul”-soundtracked childhoods. People started crossing their fingers with last month’s release of a new four-song EP, billed as a taste of their upcoming full-length, Join Us, which drops July 19. And now they can finally experience the full nerdgasm: TMBG just announced a new tour aimed at audiences familiar with their ABCs and 123s, including a stop at the Riv September 23.
The announcement is preemptively soothing, pointing out that these dates (none of which are on the West Coast) are only the first leg of the tour, and that everyone should just chill until the next leg is announced.
