Thomas Dolby at Martyrs’ Oct. 7

More Just Announced
Thomas Dolby, synth-musician extraordinaire, recently announced upcoming US tour dates, including one at Martyrs’ in Chicago on Oct. 7. The tour will promote Dolby’s first album in 20 years, A Map Of The Floating City. Tickets are available now.
Each appearance on this tour combines the new music with a lecture from Dolby about his recent social media game, The Floating City: A Dieselpunk Dystopia. Set in the post-WWII ’40s, the game required players to form tribes to survive a devastating climate catastrophe. Through game play, participants could win exclusive singles from A Map Of The Floating City. The winning tribe from the game also won a private performance from Dolby.
A Map Of The Floating City was recorded in a studio Dolby constructed on his privately owned 1930s lifeboat. Contributors include Imogen Heap and Regina Spektor. The new record hits stores Oct. 24.
