TJ Miller at Chicago Underground Comedy
More Just Announced
Anyone who’s heard TJ Miller on the Doug Loves Movies podcast, seen him in Cloverfield as the guy responsible for the shaky cam, or caught his stand-up during his years spent in Chicago is aware of his goofy, nice guy charm and seemingly endless thirst to riff. He spent four years cutting his teeth at nearly every comedy institution in Chicago (Second City, iO, The Lincoln Lodge) before moving to Los Angeles in 2007 to further his career as a comic and actor.
Tuesday, Sept. 13, Miller is returning to Chicago to celebrate the release of his new musical comedy record, The Extended Play EP. The Beat Kitchen’s Tuesday night comedy show, Chicago Underground Comedy, is producing the event, which boasts an incredibly stacked lineup of local comics, including Cameron Esposito, James Fritz, Dan Telfer, CJ Sullivan, Sean Flannery, and a special set from Miller himself.
In addition to the high-quality stand-up comedy from all parties involved, there will be live performances of tracks from The Extended Play EP featuring surprise musical guests. In honor of the return of one of Chicago’s prodigal comics, Chicago Underground Comedy is waiving its regular $5 door charge, making for an unbeatable night of free comedy. The show kicks off at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Beat Kitchen, and is one of those “can’t-miss” nights for any self-respecting, Chicago-based comedy nerd.
