Tonight: Moby
Electronica experimentalist throws down a DJ set at Vision
Moby entranced crowds with a DJ set at South By Southwest this year.
Moby might have dimmed a bit after a series of albums that were more than a bit dim, but he’s still a storied DJ with deep roots in the history of rave. His classic track “Go” is still an anthem—see a recent Trentemoller remix that cuts new lines in an iconic Twin Peaks sample. He’s nothing if not rooted in the kind of diva yelps that invariably make dance floors move, an aesthetic that permeates this year’s studio album Last Night, which Moby himself bills as a “love letter to dance music in New York City.” Guess Moby’s figuring Chicago loves his home state of New York as much as he does, then, for this DJ set at Vision, which begins just as Radiohead finishes up on the AT&T Stage at Lollapalooza. Those who still have some energy in their legs after spending the day in the sun (and don't feel completely gross), should be rewarded by an eclectic set from Moby here.
The 21+ event begins at 10pm at Vision. Tickets cost $20.
