Two more dates for Flight Of The Conchords
The popular New Zealanders behind Flight Of The Conchords had a hard time with their kick-ass HBO show's second season. See, each episode of the artfully awkward comedy contains two original songs, with some serving as central plot points. Two satirical songs per episode times 12 slated weeks equals creative burn-out for the guitar slingin' duo. But, thankfully, Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement completed the songs, and the show airs Sunday nights on HBO—of course, this means a second FOTC album from Sub Pop is in the works.
Just in time to build hype for the impending release, McKenzie and Clement will be swinging by McCormick Place's Arie Crown Theater April 28 and 29. Tickets are a whopping $40.50 (yep, that additional dollar will be broken), which may seem steep for a comic band not many people have heard of. But given the audience reaction to "Business Time" last year when the boys swept through town (at the Chicago Theatre)—wild applause, drunken singing-along, air-humping—it seems the followers of Stuff White People Like have found their next "Fuck Her Gently." Little did McKenzie or Clement know…
Tickets go on sale February 7.
