Emasculating pop culture fanatics since 1998, NPR’s hour-long quiz show Wait Wait ... Don’t Tell Me tests how closely celebrity panelists and listeners pay attention to the news. Now, host Peter Sagal and his ragtag group of smarmy news experts are set to hit the big leagues. This Dec. 23, highbrow humorists can watch the quiz shenanigans on BBC America.
Though, for now, it will just run a year-end review show featuring panelists Paula Poundstone and Alonzo Bodden, the BBC is considering going further, possibly making Wait Wait ... Don’t Tell Me a regular feature on the channel. Maybe now the prizes will be a tad better than getting a voice message from scorekeeper Carl Kasell.
