Win tickets to Chicago Jazz Ensemble’s “New Orleans Now”

The Chicago Jazz Ensemble is putting on a special “New Orleans Now” performance at the Harris Theater Nov. 18, and The A.V. Club is giving away two pairs of tickets. Interested jazzophiles should send an e-mail to ochicago@theonion.com with “CJE” in the subject line.
At “New Orleans Now,” the CJE will be accompanied by three special guest performers: drummer Stanton Moore (founding member of Galactic and a solo artist), alto saxophonist Donald Harrison (“The King of Nouveau Swing”), and pianist Henry Butler (an eight-time W.C. Handy “Best Blues Instrumentalist—Piano” award nominee). These cool cats will honor the history of New Orleans Jazz by laying some of that signature Bayou sound on Chi-town’s eardrums. The program will consist of both traditional and contemporary interpretations of old favorites from artists like Duke Ellington, Louis Prima, and King Oliver.
