Win tickets to Eleventh Dream Day and The Pipettes
As the weather finally starts to warm up (for now), the time is ripe to grab a cold drink and shamelessly celebrate as a member of a groupie, mob, or a tame audience at a live performance. This month, The A.V. Club has tickets to give away to two fabulous shows: Eleventh Dream Day at Lincoln Hall and The Pipettes at Schubas. Interested readers should e-mail ochicago@theonion.com with either “Eleventh Dream Day” or “The Pipettes” in the subject line. A winner will be drawn the day before the show.
Eleventh Dream Day, a Chicago-bred band, is a veteran in the field in rock. But this time the group is out with a fresh new record, Riot Now!, after a five-year hiatus since its last album, Zeroes And Ones. Special guest The 1900s will help rock Eleventh Dream Day’s record release party at Lincoln Hall on April 22. Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.
Despite the fact that they’re also inviting some VIP guests, the members of quasi-pop group The Pipettes sing a whole different tune from Eleven Dream Day with their latest album’s alien chic theme. Earth Vs. The Pipettes is also a far cry from the band’s comfort zone, which doesn’t deviate too far from ’50s polka-dotted dresses and ’70s disco. Rock out with The Pipettes’ choreographed dances at Schubas Tavern on April 25, 8 p.m. Tickets are $13 in advance or $15 at the door.
