Win tickets to Jonathan Richman, Middle Brother, or The Tossers
Jonathan Richman
The A.V. Club has tickets to give away to a few shows at the Metro, so read on, dear reader. The first tickets up for grabs are to see Jonathan Richman on March 11. The second show is Middle Brother on March 12. And, finally, the third show is a St. Patty’s Day-inspired event on March 18 with The Tossers and a “very special guest”—perhaps a leprechaun with a pot o’ gold. For those who are 18+ and have the luck of the Irish, enter to win tickets for any of the above shows by sending an email to ochicago@theonion.com with the name of the artist in the subject line.
The child-like melodies of Jonathan Richman have been soothing audiences for four decades. Since starting The Modern Lovers in the ’70s, Richman has been an undervalued asset to the acoustic rock community.
Middle Brother is the new project from the frontmen of Dawes, Deer Tick, and Delta Spirit. The band got together in 2009 and has been making decent folk music ever since.
The Tossers have been together since the ’90s, but they only really seem to appear each year around St. Patrick’s Day to play a few hilarious, profanity-laden, alcohol-fueled shows in their classic Irish style.
