Want to see Zach Condon jam out on his flugelhorn for free? The A.V. Club is giving away two pairs of tickets to the next Beirut show, which, at full price, would have set fans back $30 each. The collective headed by Condon plays the Congress on Monday, Sept. 26. To enter to win tickets, e-mail ochicago@theonion.com with “Beirut” in the subject line.
Musical prodigy Zach Condon chose Beirut as the all-encompassing name for his Balkan-influenced act, using a rotating group of musicians to back up his trumpet, ukelele, and glockenspiels, or you name it. The band’s fall tour will focus around his new album The Rip Tide, the third full-length album from the folk troupe, which has been praised for its accessibility and sophistication.
