Win tickets to see Boris or The Damned at Metro
Boris
Want to see two experimental rock bands that hail from halfway around the globe? The A.V. Club is giving away tickets to Boris at the Metro Wednesday, Oct. 19 and The Damned, also at the Metro, Tuesday, Oct. 25. To enter to win tickets, email ochicago@theonion.com with either “Boris” or “The Damned” in the subject line, depending on which band you want to see.
Boris hails from Tokyo, and the trio has been prolific in its output since the ’90s. The band released two full-length albums, Attention Please and Heavy Rocks, on the same day this May. Known for its hook-filled, spacey sound, the Japanese band brings its underrated rock on a North American fall tour.
British gothic punk rockers The Damned celebrate their 35th anniversary on this tour. Part of the original London ’70s punk scene, the band released its 10th studio album So, Who’s Paranoid? in 2010. Though the band has broken up and gotten back together many times over the last few decades, it’s ready to bring it together for a pre-Halloween show.
