Win tickets to see Brokeback or Judson Claiborne at The Hideout
In the dead of winter, almost nothing beats a brew and live music at a cozy Chicago pub, which is why The A.V. Club is giving away tickets to two intimate shows at The Hideout this February.
To win tickets to see sophisticated fusion outfit Brokeback on Feb. 9, send an e-mail to ochicago@theonion.com with the subject line “Brokeback.” To win tickets to see rootsy balladeer Judson Claiborne on Feb. 10, e-mail ochicago@theonion.com with “Judson Claiborne” in the subject line.
Brokeback, originally a highbrow side project of Tortoise bassist Douglas McCombs, will visit Chicago newly reunited. The now-four-man ensemble are touring as Brokeback for the first time since 2008, after having released its fourth and latest full-length album, Looks At The Bird, in 2003. The group will be joined onstage by dreamy experimentalists Miracle Condition.
Judson Claiborne, the troubadour alter ego of Low Skies’ Chris Salveter, will hit Chicago in the thick of his North American tour, which will wrap up later in February in Cincinnati. The show will also feature two guest artists: the hypnotic Eiren Caffall and mellow folksters The Counterpane.
