Win tickets to see Kaki King at SPACE March 25
On Friday, Mar. 25, the nimble-fingered Kaki King will be performing at Evanston SPACE, and The A.V. Club has a pair of tickets to give away. To win, interested parties should e-mail ochicago@theonion.com and include “Kaki King” in the subject line.
Kaki King began her career with a reputation of being a guitar prodigy. She eventually got in touch with Chicago post-rock mastermind, John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea And Cake), and her music became fuller and more vocal with some additional instruments. Her first three albums, Everybody Loves You, Legs To Make Us Longer, and … Until We Felt Red, are primarily instrumental, but most of the tracks on 2010’s Junior feature King’s murmuring voice. Her dexterous, dreamy, and beautiful melodies appeared in the film Into The Wild, for which King was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score.
