Win tickets to see Kid Koala at Abbey Pub
The A.V. Club knows that sometimes the word “DJ” is thought to be synonymous with loud techno and slutty dancing, but one performance by Kid Koala can shatter all those preconceptions. As such, we’ve got two pairs of tickets to giveaway for Kid Koala’s performance at the Abbey Pub on May 14 at 8 p.m., to help redeem all of DJ-kind. Kid Koala, a Canadian DJ, loves quaint music and graphic novels. He’s got some quirky ideas for show themes, like his idea for “a puppet musical about a robot who works at a cookie factory.” His latest tour revolved around quiet, lulling music that was easy to draw to, with encouragements for fans to bring their own sketchbooks and discouragements of dancing. The little town in Footloose would be proud.
