Contest Win tickets to see Skysaw, Camera, and Soft Speaker at Metro

For fans who are still mourning the loss of Smashing Pumpkins, The A.V. Club has a pair of tickets for fans to check Smashing Pumpkins and Zwan drummer Jimmy Chamberlin’s latest project—a band titled Skysaw—at the Metro. For a chance to win tickets to this June 25 performance, also featuring Camera and Soft Speaker, send an e-mail to ochicago@theonion.com with “Skysaw” in the subject line.

Although Skysaw is a new band, with its debut album, Great Civilizations, slated to release on June 21, the quintet actually features many familiar faces like Chamberlin, along with guitarist Anthony Pirog, Boris Skalsky, Mike Reina, and Paul Wood. Not only that, but the band members go way back with their collaborations as well, like the cases with Reina, Wood, and Skalsky, who jammed together in Phaser; Pirog and Reina, who wrote together for The Jackfields; and Wood and Skalsky, who were both members of Dead Heart Bloom. But to get a taste of the music the five men create together, check out their four-minute song “No One Can Tell,” a psychedelic and dreamy rock tune that boasts of a great beat from Chamberlin and sizzling guitar riffs.
