The Hold Steady doesn’t churn out its heartfelt indie rock draped in fashionably disheveled v-necks. Instead, lead singer Craig Finn swerves audiences with a look well suited for a bank teller. Proof that looks aren’t everything, Finn pours his guts out to crowds with a gruff voice that marches pleasant instrumentals into the land of originality.
