Win tickets to see ?uestlove at Smart Bar Jan. 28
On Friday, Jan. 28, ?uestlove—everyone’s favorite drummer and hair icon—will grace Smart Bar with his presence, and The A.V. Club can hook some lucky readers up with tickets to the show. Interested parties should e-mail ochicago@theonion.com and include “?uestlove” in the subject line.

Drummer for The Roots, DJ, and producer for Common, Erykah Badu, and John Legend, Ahmir Khalib Thompson—who performs under the name ?uestlove—is something like a historical hip-hop revolutionary. Thompson’s dad was part of a ’50s doo-wop group and when ?uestlove was just a kid, so rather than being stuck at home with a babysitter while dad was on tour, he got to go along for the ride. As a result, by 13, Thompson was just getting started on becoming an alternative-rap renaissance player. ?uestlove has been balancing his best known project, The Roots, since its ground-breaking wave took off in 1987, with tons of other great, innovative projects further solidifying his name as one that will go down in history as a man of inexhaustible talents.
