The A.V. Club has pairs of tickets to give away to a trifecta of shows playing at the Double Door. For some badass 70’s hard-rock, we’ve got tickets to check out The Gracious Few and American Bang Nov. 12. The Heavy will be performing Nov. 13 with Wallpaper. Those looking to get down, Soulive is coming to answer your prayers Nov. 19. To win, interested parties should e-mail ochicago@theonion.com and include either, “The Gracious Few”, “The Heavy”, or “Soulive” in the subject line.

The Gracious Few is a post-rock and grunge band made up of members from the groups Live and Candlebox. With a 70’s hard-rock style similar to Foghat, these guys sound like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s heavier, bar-rocking older brother. The band caught the attention of Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads, who decided to produce their self-titled debut album with three-time Grammy Award- winning record producer and mixer, Tom Lord-Alge.

The Heavy is a rad British, soul, and garage rock group that is best known for the song in the Super Bowl commercial for the Kia Sorento. Swaby’s vocals over the group’s haunting punk-blues instrumentals sound so cool that when The Heavy appeared on the Late Show With David Letterman in January, they made history. Letterman liked their performance of “How Do You Like Me Now?” so much, that he, for the first time in the show’s history, asked the group to play it again.

Soulive is a good time. This funky jazz trio has opened for The Rolling Stones, The Roots, and Common, and played at the Monterey Jazz Festival and Bonnaroo. Soulive’s most notable collaborations have been with Fred Wesley (the trombonist from James Brown’s band), Talib Kweli, Black Thought (Tariq Trotter, frontman of The Roots), Jurassic 5, Corey Glover of Living Colour, and Robert Randolph.
