For day two of A.V. Fest, the lineup’s just as rocking. Headliners Archers Of Loaf formed in the halcyon/tragic years of the ’90s when every band seemed poised to “make it.” Of course, few of those bands had anything to show from it but major label pink slips and an expensive video rotating on 120 Minutes. Archers Of Loaf nevertheless came to embody the solid and workmanlike output that marked the Chapel Hill independent rock scene until the band kind of faded away, yielding Eric Bachmann’s solo work in Crooked Fingers. The band reunited earlier this year and has been randomly plugging away ever since. Canada’s Tokyo Police Club comes hot off a much-publicized run of recording and releasing 10 covers in 10 days—one a day, including a much-improved take on Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The U.S.A.”
